post-studio projects is a hybrid experimental art space combining an art gallery, member-based laser cutting studio, and artist residency programs. Our gallery focuses on emerging artists from Houston and beyond. Our member-based laser studio provides access to a powerful, user-friendly laser cutter that can be used for a wide variety of applications. We currently house two different artist residency programs. Our Site-Specific Residency is mobile in nature and pops up in alternative spaces across the country, giving artists time and space to complete a site-specific project. Our Teaching Artist Residency offers artists subsidized studio space in exchange for teaching classes or curating shows in our gallery. In addition to programs for artists, we have a variety of classes for adults and youth. Above all, our goal is to create opportunities for creative and professional development for artists and to strengthen artists connection to the community.

post-studio projects is a fiscally sponsored project of Fractured Atlas. Fractured Atlas is a 501(C)(3) public charity. Contributions for the purposes of post-studio projects are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

post-studio is facilitated by Kim Cook an artist-curator interested in the intersections of social practice, site-specificity, and alternative education. She received a BFA in Studio Art from Sam Houston State University, an MFA in New Genres from San Francisco Art Institute, and an MA in the History and Theory of Contemporary Art from San Francisco Art Institute.
